II-E-8. VIRGINIA REID SIBERT (1880 – 1971), daughter of George Moore Sibert3 (George2, John David1)

Virginia Reid Sibert was born on 4 September 1880 in Troy, Greenwood County, South Carolina. [1][2][3] She died on 15 July 1971. [2][3] She married Joseph Zadoc Sexton on 15 July 1909. [1] Joseph, the son of Joseph Z. and Sarah Jane (Sheets) Sexton, was born on 22 October 1876 in Kansas. [4] He died on 5 August 1965, aged 88, in Everett, Snohomish County, Washington. [4]

Virginia was buried in the Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park in Seattle, King County, Washington. [3]

Joseph's death certificate says that at the time of his death, he lived in Langley on Whidbey Island in Washington. He was a farmer and married to Virginia Sexton—the informant. He was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Seattle. [4]

According to the census, on 8 January 1920, Joseph Z., aged 43 and born in Kansas, and Virginia, aged 39 and born in South Carolina, lived in Useless Bay (at the southern end of Whidbey Island) in Island County, Washington with their son Charles, aged nine and born in Washington. Joseph was a farmer. [5]

On 7 April 1930, Joseph aged 53 and born in Kansas, and Virginia, aged 49 and born in South Carolina, lived in Useless Bay with their son Charles, aged 19 and born in Washington. Joseph was a farmer and Charles was a farm laborer. This census says that Joseph was 22 at his first marriage and Virginia was 28. This might be an error, or perhaps Joseph had been married before. On 26/27 April 1940, Joseph, aged 63 and born in Kansas, and Virginia, aged 59 and born in South Carolina, lived in Useless Bay. Joseph was a farmer; Charles was unemployed and looking for work. This census says that Joseph and Virginia had eighth-grade educations; Charles had graduated from high school. [5]

On 12 April 1950, Joseph Z., aged 73 and born in Kansas, and Virginia R., aged 69 and born in South Carolina, lived in Island County. Joseph was a farmer. [5]

Children of Joseph Zadoc Sexton and Virginia Reid Sibert:

II-E-8-a. Charles David Sexton was born on 1 October 1910 in Seattle. [1][6][7] He died of heart disease on 13 May 1984 in Freeland, Island County. [4] He married Dorothy Alice Bolton. Dorothy was the daughter of Harvey and Minnie (Connor) Bolton. [4][8] She was born on 18 March 1911 in Macedonia, Pottawattamie County, Iowa. [2][4] She died of heart disease on 2 November 1988, aged 77, in Snohomish County, Washington. [2][4]

According to Charles's birth certificate, he was the son of Joseph Z. Sexton, a 33-year-old bookkeeper who was born in Montana[!], and Jennie Sibert, aged 30 and born in Troy. [6]

Charles's death certificate says that he was the son of Joseph Zedoc Sexton and Virginia Reed Sibert. He was buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Seattle. At the time of his death, he was a "plan examiner" in Seattle. The informant was his wife, Dorothy B. Bolton. [4] Dorothy's death certificate also gives her parents' names and says whe was buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park. She is referred to as the widow of Charles David Sexton and a resisdent of Seattle. [4]

According to his 16 October 1940 World War II draft registration card, Charles worked for the "Washington Dehy. Food Co." His contact was is father. [7]

According to the census, on 5 April 1950, Charles D., aged 39 and born in Washington, and Dorothy A., aged 38 and born in Iowa, lived in Seattle. Charles was a boat builder. [5]
